BCG vaccine orders on hold

Delays with the supply of BCG vaccine have been reported by Public Health England (PHE)

As of 27 March 2015, Public Health England (PHE) report they are experiencing delays with the supply of BCG vaccine [1].

Routine ordering through ImmForm has been suspended. PHE are hoping to open ordering again in May 2015.

The most effective use of BCG vaccine is for the protection of the very young. In order to utilise limited vaccine stocks effectively, health professionals should consider prioritising the youngest infants for vaccination. For more information, please see here.
