Public Health England have published updated rabies post-exposure treatment guidelines Updated rabies post-exposure guidelines

Public Health England (PHE) has published updated guidelines for rabies post-exposure management.

Changes include:

  • Definitions of immunosuppression
  • Hours of operation of the PHE Rabies and Immunoglobulin Service (RIgS) team and availability of Human Rabies Immunoglobulin (HRIG)
  • Updated information on rabies vaccine availability in NHS Trusts in England
  • Information on the importation of animals into UK [1].
