Nay Pyi Taw
As of 21 September 2019, the country has reported 97 suspected cases of chikungunya during the current year, of which 26 were confirmed. Most of patients were from Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin State, and Tanintharyi Region.

An increasing trend in cases of chikungunya has been reported from Ethiopia since week ending 30 July 2019. In week ending 8 September 2019, 7,264 new suspected cases were reported from nine urban Kebeles in Dire Dawa City Administration.

On 26 July 2019, a locally acquired Chikungunya case has been confirmed in adult who had not recently travelled abroad.

On 14 June 2019, Iceland reported four cases of chikungunya virus disease associated with travel to Alicante, Spain, between 17-31 May 2019. Further testing has not confirmed the infection in Iceland. Additional verfication tests will be conducted.

As of 7 April 2019, a total of 5,272 suspected cases of chikungunya have been reported (of which 61 have been laboratory confirmed). Cases are reported in 8 out of 12 departments: Kouilou, Bouenza, Pointe Noire, Plateaux, Pool, Niari, Lékoumou and Brazzaville. The department of Kouillou is the most affected with 41% of cases reported.
