On 10 August 2017, the Namibia Ministry of Health notified WHO of a confirmed Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever case following the death of a 64-year-old man reportedly bitten by a tick on 29 July 2017 while disinfecting goats. This is the third confirmed outbreak in Namibia for 2017. The last two outbreaks occurred in Gobabis District, Omaheke Region.
