Since the beginning of the outbreak in September 2017, 311 suspected cases and 7 deaths have been reported in 26 states. Of these, 132 were confirmed in 17 states. Six cases, of which three confirmed, were reported in January 2019.

As of 15 September 2018, a total of 269 suspected cases across 25 states and one territory, including 115 confirmed cases, have been reported since September 2017. Seven deaths have been recorded, including two in 2018.

As of 25 January 2018, a total of 216 cases with five deaths have been reported across 24 states since September 2017. Confirmed cases (80) are restricted to 14 states. In the most recent week of reporting, 11 new suspected cases were reported in Akwa Ibom (9), Rivers (1), and Oyo (1).

As of 9 December 2017, a total of 172 cases (suspected, confirmed and probable) have been recorded from 22 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
27 Nov 2017 Nigeria
As of 19 November 2017, a total of 146 cases (42 confirmed) have been reported in FCT and in the states of Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ekiti, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kwara, Kogi, Lagos, Ondo, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, and Rivers. In the most recent week of reporting, 14 new cases were reported. Confirmed cases currently cluster in the south west, but suspected cases have been reported in a wide swathe of states.

As of 2 November 2017, a total of 116 cases have been reported across 21 states. Confirmed cases (38) are reported from the states of Akwa Ibom, Bayel sa, Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, Lagos, Rivers and FCT.

As of 27 October 2017, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has reported six additional confirmed Monkeypox cases. There are now a total of nine confirmed cases in Nigeria. The affected regions are: Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Enugu states, and the Federal Capital Territory.
