As of 17th March 2019, nearly 109,000 cases of severe acute watery diarrhoea and suspected cholera were reported with 190 associated deaths since the beginning of 2019. Nearly one third of the reported cases are children under the age of five years old.

The Ministry of Public Health and Population of Yemen has reported 9,140 suspected cases (12 deaths) between 31 December 2018 and 6 January 2019. The cumulative total number of suspected cholera cases from 1 January 2018 to 6 January 2019 is 379,288 (517 deaths). Children under five represent 32% of the cases. 22 of 23 governorates and 312 of 333 districts in Yemen have been affected by the outbreak.
