As of 22 July 2021, a total of 22,130 cases have been reported with 526 deaths. Outbreaks have been reported in 19 states, with Bauchi, Kano, Sokoto, and Zamfara states reporting the highest number of cases.

Between 1 January and 31 May 2021, a total of 6,738 suspected cases of cholera, with 221 deaths have been reported from 16 states. Cholera was confirmed in 14 states and outbreaks were controlled before confirmation in the other states. The number of cases reported so far in 2021 has already exceeded the total reported in the whole of 2019 (3,513) and 2020 (1,803).
