Cyclosporiasis in United Kingdom ex Mexico and USA

Between 30 April and 15 July 2026, 67 cases of cyclosporiasis were reported in the UK (30 in England, 27 in Scotland and 10 in Wales). Of the 51 cases with travel information available, 48 reported travel to Mexico, with one reporting both travel to Mexico and the USA.

Cyclosporiasis in USA

As of 18 July 2026, over 1,644 confirmed cases of Cyclospora have been reported in a multi-state outbreak since 1 May 2026. An additional 5,100 cases are under investigation. Cases have been linked to contaminated shredded iceberg lettuce.
