Chikungunya in China

As of 3 August 2025, China has reported a total of 4,824 confirmed chikungunya across 12 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong province. The majority of cases are concentrated in Shunde District, Foshan City, with 70 cases reported the other 11 prefectures. Please see our Topics in Brief article for further details on chikungunya.

Between 20 July and 26 July 2025 a total of 2,940 cases of chikungunya have been reported in Guangdong. Of these cases, 2,882 were reported from Foshan. Please see our Topics in Brief article for further details on chikungunya.
