Hepatitis A in Czech Republic
Between 1 January and May 2025, a total of 600 confirmed hepatitis A (HAV) cases, with six deaths, have been reported. This represents a higher than expected number of HAV subgenotype IB cases. 18% of cases in 2025 have been within the Roma community but many have also been identified in the homeless population, those with alcohol/substance abuse and male sex workers. Hepatitis A in Czech Republic
As of 5 May 2025, a total of 450 confirmed hepatitis A cases, with six deaths, have been reported in the Czech Republic for 2025. In 2024, 636 cases, with two deaths were reported for the whole of 2024. Central Bohemia, Moravia-Silesia and Prague have reported the most cases so far in 2025.
