Hepatitis A in Czech Republic
Between 1 January and May 2025, a total of 600 confirmed hepatitis A (HAV) cases, with six deaths, have been reported. This represents a higher than expected number of HAV subgenotype IB cases. 18% of cases in 2025 have been within the Roma community but many have also been identified in the homeless population, those with alcohol/substance abuse and male sex workers.
